RESUMO:

Introduction: Cognitive decline can compromise independence and quality of life. However, physical exercise is associated with a decreased risk of developing cognitive impairment and dementia and has a positive effect on cognition. Parkinson's disease (PD) is degenerative and progressive and presents with non-motor symptoms, such as cognitive impairment. The impairment in executive and attention function in PD limits the ability to divide attention into distinct actions, hindering simultaneous performance or dual task accomplishment. Objective: To investigate the interference of the dual cognitive task on functional performance, and mobility of elderly individuals with mild cognitive impairment and Parkinson's disease. Methods: A cross - sectional and analytical study was carried out at the Faculty of Health Sciences of Trairí - FACISA / UFRN. The motor evaluation was performed through the Foot Eight Walking test (FW8) - it evaluates the individual's dynamic balance, being necessary to perform two turns on the figure in form of 'eight' with length of 10 m and 15 cm of width. The Time Up and Go test (TUG) - quantifies functional mobility. The FW8 and TUG were performed with a dual motor and cognitive task, which consisted of carrying a disposable plastic cup with 1/3 of water and randomly mentioning animal names. Conclusions: There was a temporal increase in the mobility tests, in the situations of motor and cognitive dual tasks, in the healthy elderly, with CCL and DP, in comparison to the simple tests, especially the high time for motor task gait in the groups of with CCL.
