TIME ANALYSIS OF HOSPITAL COSTS FOR RESPIRATORY DISEASES IN BRAZIL

Introduction: Respiratory diseases (RD) affect and cause deaths in all age groups. This condition can be modifying negatively the quality of life of patients and ca be responsible for expensive costs to health services. The information provided by DATASUS of RD can be used to facilitate professional therapeutic decision-making, as well as to set goals and encourage the creation of public policies aimed at this population. Aim: To evaluate the financial costs of hospitalizations in the Brazilian population caused by respiratory diseases between the years 1998 and 2021. Methods: This is a descriptive, longitudinal and quantitative study, with data duly registered in the Hospital Information System of Unified Healthy System (HIS/UHS), referring to the costs generated by respiratory diseases in Brazil, including individuals from 0 to 80 years old, grouped according to region, sex, age group and year of processing. The hospitalizations of private or public services linked to the UHS in the years 1998 to 2021will be analyzed. The statistics will be performed using the GraphPad Prism program, version 5.0. Data normality will be assessed using the Kolmogorov Smirnov test and comparison between groups and periods of year will be performed using the one-way ANOVA test with Tukey's post hoc test. The established significance level will be 5% (p<0.05). Expected Results: It is expected from this research to evaluate and understand the financial costs of hospitalizations in the Brazilian population caused by respiratory diseases between the years 1998 and 2021, to contribute with this information for future public health policies.
